Book Editing Prices
Editing £0.008 per word
This includes line and copy editing and some elements of developmental editing.
I will edit your manuscript and return it to you so you can make your amendments based on my feedback. You then return it to me for a final proofread at no additional cost.
Occasionally, a further round of edits may be required. These will be chargeable and costs may vary depending on the amount of extra work needed.

Proofreading £0.007 per word
This includes one full read through of your manuscript to check for errors that might have been missed by your editor.
Timeframes for edits and proofreads
I usually ask for a maximum of 10-14 working days to edit or proofread a manuscript of up to 70,000 words. If your novel is longer, the timescale will be a little longer depending on how many words you have.
The final readthrough will typically take one week from the date you send the manuscript back to me.
If you think you are likely to take longer than two weeks to return it to me for the final readthrough, please let me know when you book. If you don’t (except in unprecedented circumstances), I might not be able to return your final manuscript within a week. I will always strive to get your work done in a timely manner, but please understand my priority has to go to clients who are booked in and on time.
Payments
A non-refundable booking fee of £40 will be required to secure your date. This will be taken off the total cost of your edit on completion.
A minimum of 50% of the cost of the full manuscript must be paid on or before the day editing will begin. The remaining cost must be paid before your manuscript will be returned after the final readthrough.
Work will not begin until the deposit has been received. Payment plans are available but must be discussed before work begins.
Cancellation and refund policy for general editing/proofreading
You have until one month before your edits are due to begin to cancel your slot if you are unable to make the date. It is SOLELY your responsibility to remember when your edit is due. If you cancel less than four weeks before your due date, you will be subject to a late cancellation fee of £40 and any deposit you paid will be forfeited.
